KLMIS is aimed at serving as a one-stop shop for all information pertaining to the labour market. It also provides an interactive platform for job seekers and employers, as well as other stakeholders, to interact.

The Kenya Labour Market Information System ( KLMIS) is a Government of Kenya web site, through its Ministry of East Africa Community, Labour and Social Protection. The Ministry works closely with umbrella bodies representing workers such as COTU (Central Organization of Trade Unions) and Employers (such as Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) and others.

KLMIS is a web-based portal aimed at improving access to and quality of Labour Market Information (LMI) for informed decision-making by various labour market participants in Kenya.

Users can also access periodic labour market reports and publications, as well as career guidance tools and other labour market services.

It provides statistics on unemployment, job vacancies, labour supply and demand, sectoral employment and Key Labour Market Indicators.

KLMIS sources its data from a variety of reliable channels, including survey-based and administrative sources. These include national surveys such as Household Surveys, Manpower Surveys, the Population Census, and the Labour Force Survey (LFS) conducted by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS). It also utilizes administrative data from government institutions like the Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Education, the National Employment Authority (NEA), and the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). Additionally, KLMIS incorporates administrative data from the private sector and employers, including employer returns and job vacancy statistics. Other sources include web-crawled data and special surveys such as World Bank STEP surveys and tracer studies.
