Kenya Labour Market Information System
The Kenya Labour Market Information System (KLMIS) is a web-based portal that improves access to, and the quality of, Labour Market Information (LMI) available to the public, helping labour market participants make informed decisions.
These participants include students (prospective workers) making career choices, workers looking for job opportunities, and employers, investors and policy stakeholders.

A national system
KLMIS is a national system under the direct purview of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, State Department for Labour and Skills Development (Directorate of National Human Resource Planning and Development), for the analysis of labour market trends and emerging human capital issues.

Labour Market Observatory Unit
The Labour Market Observatory Unit (Labour Market Information and Analysis Unit) within the Directorate of NHRP&D was established to centralise the activities needed to manage and develop KLMIS.

History & partners
Development of KLMIS started in 2014 with technical assistance from the International Labour Organization (ILO). Since 2016, both its infrastructure and content have received major support through the Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities Project (KYEOP), under its component on improving labour market information.
