Industrial attachment is an important part of education and training. It gives students real practical work experience in their area of specialisation, and most training institutions make it a course requirement.
Objectives
The main objective of industrial attachment is to link industry and training institutions, placing students in the workplace to gain practical skills and an appropriate work ethic before they enter the labour market.
Applying for industrial attachment
The Government recognises the importance of industrial attachment and established the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) to provide it. NITA links industry and training institutions to place students in the workplace to gain practical skills.
Besides NITA, ministries in both the National and County Governments, as well as private organisations and companies, also offer industrial attachment opportunities.
