2nd SASASNET CONFERENCE IN MOMBASA, KENYA

Kenya, as one of the founding members of Sub-Saharan African Skills and Apprenticeship Network, is hosting the 2nd conference in Mombasa from 14th – 16 of May 2025 under the theme “Transforming apprenticeship systems in the Informal economy for Youth Employability in Africa”.

This is a multi-stakeholder conference comprising of regional policymakers, training providers, employers’ associations, youth groups, development partners, and labour market institutions to deliberate on strategies for strengthening apprenticeship systems and transitioning informal skills development into structured, quality systems that respond to the needs of youth and the wider labour market in Africa

Recognizing that Labour Market Information (LMI) is crucial for effective skills development and evidence-based policymaking, the Directorate of Labour Market Research and Analysis is in attendance to share current insights on Labour Market Information. This highlights the transformative power of data-driven decision-making, not only aligning policies with emerging labour trends but also reinforcing a commitment to responsive and future-focused skills development.
